December Monthly Movie List

Nothing puts you more in the mood for movies than the month of December. While we are finishing up some tv show series that we have been watching, I am having a hard time find new shows that are actually fulfilling. We all know that no a days entertainment is polluted. Although this doesn’t matter for some & I will say it hasn’t really bothered me until recently, I would personally like to start watching more wholesome content when watching tv. Here is our solution & why it qualifies for a Christmas DIY series like this!

This is why we are watching more movies these days.

Nighttime is big tv time around here — books aren’t really our thing as much as we have tried. But consuming so much violence & tension right before bed is really affecting me. Our crime show days are nearing, sadly. Movies seem to be a great break away from these binge-able series. We get one movie it & its time for bed & it is perfect! I am now setting a goal to make a movie list for each month so that when we are sitting down we don’t have to mess with the hour long “what do we watch” debate.

These movies have been such a fun way to spend the last few hours together after a long day of work. They are mostly - working on getting them all to be - family friendly so these lists can be reused each year as tradition.

I have downloadable versions of this list below for you to print your own! You can print it at home with the PDF version or the 8x10 photo version. Our printer is no longer in commission so I actually got mine printed at Walgreens. You can do the 8x10 photo, but we printed it as a professional document on the 40lb paper option. If you just go to Walgreens printing serves you will find where you can get pdf’s printed. Make sure it is set to color & you are good! It was under $1 & I picked it the same day!

Different ideas on keeping your movie list updated at home.

As you can see in these images, we got our list printed & added it to an old thrifted frame. This frame had a picture it in that I didn’t much care for, so we removed the backing & the metal bars keep the glass in tacked. You can also add some glue dots around the rim to help secure even more. This is. much cheaper way to get that floating glass frame look — but you can always just go purchase a double sided glass frame from any decor store.

We added charm to our list by tearing off a bit of the border. This adds an old vibe with a bit more visual appeal then just the clean lines. It’s a bit extra, yes, but it was simple! Here is a quick list of ideas I came up with to show case your monthly list…

  1. in a frame like how we did or a sitting frame on your bookcase or mantle. Use an expo marker to check the boxes if you desire. You can also use a sharpie & than color over the sharpie with an expo marker to remove the marks when the month is over.

  2. grab a large clipboard & stick it in the clip with a pen & hang on the wall or keep in a book case. Have it sitting on your coffee table even with a candle or vase to sit on top. Use it as a decorative tray while you are not pondering the many options you have for the month.

  3. use a linen cover scrapbook to start collecting these over the months & keep them all together. Make notes for years to come so you know what movies you loved & which ones you could pass next time.

Keep scrolling to find downloadable versions of our list so you can have it in your home, too! We have a pdf download which is what we used, but also an 8x10 image version so you can get it printed as a photo to put in an 8x10 frame.
