Make Your Own Sanitizer Wipes
What a strange time we’re in. I think about what habits we will all hold after this passes. Will we be this conscious of the germs around us after the pandemic threat is gone? I must say that the things I am doing now are things I should have been doing long before this. I will say that sanitizing my hands & the areas around me more frequently is a habit I will like to always carry. With stocks so incredibly low for any type of sanitizer, making these DIY sanitizer wipes were my only hope. Luckily I had everything in the house ready to go.

After a bit of research, finding out what actually helps kill bacteria & what doesn’t create detrimental damage to your hands. I want to add that this do it yourself project should be used only as a last case scenario. These wipes are not medical grade & will not prevent the spread or prevention from obtaining the virus.
How I made my own Sanitizer Wipes
Like I said, these items were all what I had on hand in this tiny little camper. My lucky day started when I had these extra mason jars lying around. I bought these from the dollar store prior to the virus hitting the states. They were meant to house sea shells as we visited the beach. Well, beaches are closed now so filling them with shells do not take priority.
The cotton pads were from a previous face regimen that I cut out. I replaced using cotton pads with a battery deep facial scrubber. It left me with a jar full of these tiny pads that I figured would make a perfect one time use wipe.
Now for the mixture : 1/4 cup hot water mixed with 1 cup rubbing alcohol. I read the higher % the better, but the one I had was 91%. Next is to add 2 table spoons of aloe. The fun part of this was Gardner Aby came out & put that old aloe plant to use. What a strange but reassuring feeling it is to use your plants for what they are actually meant for. The aloe helps protect your hards from the harshness of the alcohol. The smell of these wipes can be potent at first, however if you add essential oils then as the alcohol dries, you will be left with a more pleasing scent. I used Young Living Thieves as its known for its cleaning purposes.
