My Bedroom Bedding Must Haves

I shared this photo on the Our Blue Abode Instagram Account the other day & was so flattered at the amount of loved poured over this small space. Finding the right bedding is one tall task, affording it is another. The RV had a queen size bed, but then when we splurged with a king in the apartment, buying new bedding was last on my “want” list. Can you believe that we are still getting away with most of our queen size bedding here!

We went with a Nectar mattress & they had a promo for a free set of sheets included. For obvious reasons, getting away with a queen fitted sheet isn’t very practical. However, I chose to layer our more decorative, queen size sheet over & tuck in to create a layered, cozy look. Throwing a few blankets & tucking our fluffy comforter near the foot of the bed makes it look done, but lived in. I could jump right inside!

Layering Textures for a Lived In Look

When Luke helps me make the bed, he struggles. Not because he doesn't know what he is doing, I mean bed making is pretty entry level. BUT I don’t make it easy when I say… “Tuck it here, but make it messy. I want to see this layer here, but layer this on top.” I thought making a bed messy would be easier, thats not the case for all parties.

I was able to find all these cozy layers at Target! With an occasional pillow cover purchase from Amazon, finding things at Target is much, much easier. I share all my links & recommendations in this blog post!

Cozy means Imperfect

Playing on different textures, sizes, patterns & fabrics is the way to go when creating a comfortable look. Do not be afraid to play on multiple different looks that you like. You never know, you may create the perfect combination that fulfills YOUR style.

Making Your Bed Cozy

Nailing down our cozy bed was a challenge in the RV. The tricks I learned there are surely helping me with our bed now. You can read here “Make Your Bed Cozy” about how I managed to make such a small space work… Making your bed can truly change your day. I was asked to give advice once to an almost married couple & my short experience didn’t leave me with much. What I could say however, was to make your bed together. The motivation of completing this task, the act of doing it together & the ambiance a cozy bed offers changes your day & the feel of your entire home.
