Our Full Time RV Must Haves
We have lived in this home on wheels for over 6 months now & I can hardly even believe it! We have learned so much about this lifestyle & how we can live simply & yet oh so cozy. From playing with different textures to brightening up our space, we have come to love this life in our tiny home.
Why We Chose the RV We Now Call Home
I have been asked several times now why we chose our specific rig. I am always hesitant to explain because frankly I do not know much about the logistics of our RV. In my head, I chose it purely based on the fact that I was able to visualize it as a home. However, once I got back to them & went a bit deeper, I realized that this was information I once looked for. Why not give my honest take? So here we are, why we chose the RV we now call home.
Staying Organized while Living Tiny
One of my most frequent asked questions is how do I stay organized while living in such a small space. Moving to our RV, I learned & am still learning on what it means to live simply & minimal. I am learning what is truly important to me, how to make the most of my space & belongings & little ways to still make it feel like home. Showing the coziness we created through pictures is fun, but I do understand that it might not be as easy understanding how simple it truly is to live tiny.
Make Your Bed Cozy
Making your bed can truly change your day. I was asked to give advice once to an almost married couple & my short experience didn’t leave me with much. What I could say however, was to make your bed together. The motivation of completing this task, the act of doing it together & the ambiance a cozy bed offers changes your day & the feel of your entire home.
Our Small RV Bathroom Update
Welcome to a space I have yet to share until this project was complete! We decided to spruce up the bathroom of our rv a bit with this small rv bathroom remodel. By both showing that you do not need to do much to update a space & that you can also stay within a budget, I truly feel like this now belongs in our home. It makes sense now. Purchasing most of our items from Amazon, we were able to get everything to our door in TWO days & installed in ONE. This was a one weekend project & that is a beautiful thing.
Game Storage Hack
We all have an idea of the perfect game night. The one’s where you have a cheese board & popcorn on display. Music whistling in the background. & a rowdy game of charades for all to join. Game nights, I have learned, are one of the most fun adult activities to enjoy. They are essentially low cost ways to entertain & enjoy your loved ones. One thing that I didn’t like about them however, was the collection of games we started to need. Old games turn into over done games & soon enough you have a closet dedicated to colorful boxes that were only half filled with cards or dice. Now add living in a tiny home to the mix. How on earth do you justify getting rid of some pots & pans but keeping Monopoly?
DIY Dog Kennel for your Pup
Adopting little Lady was a dream that I cannot believe we pursued so soon, let alone while we are living in an RV. Moving to Florida has been life changing & healing. Part of that healing is due to our dear old pup, Leroy, that we are finally living closer to! Rehoming our Leroy to my sister was a no brainer decision that also broke our hearts. Because of this, I honestly thought we would never get another dog. It didn’t really sit right while me until we moved here & saw how sweet & blessed Leroy’s life is. I is 100% through & through a Florida pup & truly belongs to my sister. He is a dream & I wish every person had the chance to love Leroy.
Camper Christmas Special
I recently shared with you our cozy Christmas past in the Blue Abode. You can read it here, “Our Cozy Memories from Christmas Past”. I shared our struggle this year with getting into the Christmas spirit & how it just feels a bit different. Soon after I was able to “testify” our tiny home & it changed the game a bit. With keeping both minimal & budget friendly concepts in mind, we were able to fill this space up with Christmas cheer.
Our Road Abode Story
A year ago we NEVER dreamed we would be where we are at today. Living full time in an RV was not exactly in our plan book, but then again, when does our own plans actually happen.
I always thought we had a cool story. Being high school sweethearts, moving around different states & still finding our way back together. Getting married young. The lady at the pet store told us we were a Hallmark movie. I like to think so. There is one part though, I guess our plot in our story. You know, the infertility detail that I sometimes talk about. The part of the story that is keeping us at the edge of our seats - actually more on our knees, if you know what I mean. The BIG part of our story that is shaping us & creating us as a couple in Christ.
