Recommendations for Baby Travel System
I looked as so many lists & videos of recommendations as I built my baby registry. Once section that overwhelmed me the most was this, the transportation & travel section. From the price ranges to the safety options, I had no idea what choices were best for us. Because of that, I wanted to create a quick list for what we are using & loving & why. Nothing you need to copy, but if you were curious what works for us, here you go. I would do it all over again if I had the choice.

Light Mirror — This is a recommendation not because I use it, but because I wish I could! I have thought about making the switch, but for right now we are using this mirror without a light. Works great except for at night. This light would probably help us see our baby back there! Other than that, the tilt & installation & size of this mirror are great.
Portable Sound Machine — We are using the Hatch for our main bedroom sound machine, but this portable one might be better for us in this stage of life. He LOVES it. I know some kids love the car & some just don’t, but I contribute a lot of the love he has for the ride to this machine. Naps that aren’t at home or on our main level of the house have been made possible thanks to this guy.
Diaper Clutch — For those quick run ins, date nights, walks, times you truly only need a diaper or two & some wipes. This clutch is so easy to use, surprisingly fits quite a bit & helps this non purse using mama get away with not lugging around a giant diaper bag all the time.
Portable Stroller Fan — To no surprise, this is a popular one. I love this fan for our summer baby to give me peace of mind that our little man isn’t overheating. Pool days, park walks or even those few minutes before the car cools does is much nicer with this gadget. The three movable, bendy prongs make it useable basically anywhere.
Stretchy Nursing & Car Seat Cover — Once again, my friends recommendation! This helped as I was learning to nurse in public. The flowy or blanket method for covering was hard for me as a beginner, so this was great! Nice to have it as a car seat cover too, so keeping it in the diaper bag had multiple purposes.
Infant Car Seat — Do your own research in terms of safety with what you are comfortable with for your baby. This is the car seat we fell in love with though for many reasons. Middle of the row price, sleek & the colors that we love, simple installation into bases & strollers (with proper adapter if needed just like any car seat), holds our big boy in snug & safe, so easy to clean & trust me we have put that to the test. Most favorite part about this car seat is the one button option. Most car seats have two buttons on both sides that have to be pressed at the same time. This one button lets you use just one hand!
Mockingbird Stroller — This. I cannot say enough about this stroller & how much joy it brings me. I have spent years dreaming of the day I would push our baby around in a stroller. This makes that real life dream so, so fun. I am a visual person so the looks are important to me. This meets those standards lol, but thats not the thing I love most. The features are. It is easy to store in my car with minimal space, with the adapter makes my car seat go in so easy. Glides, turns, rides so smooth for all terrain (we know from camping). We just started using the regular seat for it too & that has been so much more breathable for Gentry. The different zippers & ventilations help keep the sun away as much as possible, but it does come with sun shades to be extra safe. The basket underneath is a great size, bigger than a lot I have seen even. I truly cannot say enough about this stroller. Another perk that we will hopefully appreciate about this stroller is that it becomes a double. Us knowing we would like to have more kids, getting a stroller that we don’t need to replace in just a few years was crucial.
Car Seat Adapter for Mockingbird — I touched on this so I won’t say much here. They have an adapter for all car seat options. The one I have is for Chicco & Graco since I have a Graco Car Seat. It is skinny for easy storage & just clicks in & out. So, so simple.
Stroller Cup Holder — Universal fit to go on any stroller, doesn’t get in the way when I put my stroller up or down, fits my GIANT stanley cup & my phone with a thick wallet case so well. Highly recommend! I do plan on getting another caddy, though, because a lot of times I need two cupholders #coffee.
Mockingbird Bassinet — Another reason I love our stroller is for this option. This bassinet is what Gent has lived in this summer. Have a summer baby, you need this. From pool days to camping trips to nightly walks, this bassinet lets Gent have more space to be comfortable, sleep in, play & just relax. Many hours have been put into this bassinet. It also comes with a sun shade to protect him which gives me piece of mind when he is sitting pool side while mama takes a dive.
Car Seat Toy — Gent is just starting to get into different rattles & teething toys & it is fun to offer him something since we are in the car so much. I love all the Itzy Ritzy options & think they are good to keep on hand. I will learn more as he gets older, though.
